David Ernest Jones Story

David Ernest Jones - Service Number 1718

Born in the year 1895 in Conmurra, South Australia. David was a farmer of 24 years old when he enlisted on the 3rd February 1916. His next of kin was his father. James Edward Jones of Teneriffe, Clarence Street, Elsternwick, Victoria.  David's religion was the Methodist and he enrolled as a private.

Joseph was assigned to the 46th Battalion, 2nd Reinforcement.
 David unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board the HMAT Euripides A14 on 4 April 1916.

David served on the Western Front and returned to Australia on the 25th January 1919.

David Ernest Jones was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory
Medal.
